Banff votes for moderate development

People who live in Banff have voted in favour of "moderate development". The question came up on a plebicite. More than half of the 4,000 residents voted. There were four options offered on the plebicite. * Forty-three per cent voted for Moderate future development * Thirty-one per cent voted for no growth at all or a freeze on development * Thirteen per cent voted for unlimited growth * Twelve per cent wanted very limited development Results of the plebiscite will be forwarded to federal Heritage Minister Sheila Copps. Copps had called for limits to growth in all of Canada's National Parks.
