Lake Louise is in danger of being over-run by visitors if the Canadian Pacific hotel there is allowed to expand, environmentalists argue. Chateau Lake Louise sits on the shores of the lake surrounded by towering peaks and a carpet of evergreens. CP Hotels proposes to spend $50 million on the 85-year-old hotel, which is in Banff National Parkabout 170 km west of Calgary. It wants to add a 700-person convention hall and increase its overnight guest capacity to 1,126 from 994.
