Band’s claim to Castle Mountain economic as much as spiritual (opinion) May 12, 2000
The Siksika nation's demand for access to ancestral lands seems reasonable on the surface, but could be the open the door to much broader demands. Band negotiator Joe Weaselchild has threatened to occupy Castle Mountain, located between Banff and Lake Louise, because negotiations with the federal government over the land are going too slowly.
