The Siksika nation's demand for access to ancestral lands seems reasonable on the surface, but could be the open the door to much broader demands. Band negotiator Joe Weaselchild has threatened to occupy Castle Mountain, located between Banff and Lake Louise, because negotiations with the federal government over the land are going too slowly. The band has been trying to win control over the 68-square-kilometre parcel since 1960. The threat is calculated to step up negotiations
