Canmore wildlife corridors fail provincial standards, threaten Park September 12, 2000
A new study, released today to the Canmore Town Council (8:45 am) shows that current wildlife corridors in the Southern Canmore Region fail the government’s minimum standards for protecting routes for wildlife movement to and from the Kananaskis Country and Banff National Park. For the first time, this study’s computer maps clearly display what residents have been wondering for years: future development will squeeze grizzlies and other large animals into narrow corridors cluttered with more golf courses.
