A Canadian court is being asked to define a stillborn fetus as part of the mother's body and therefore eligible for compensation levels applicable to the loss of a limb. Cindy and Stephen Martin of Canmore allege negligence on the part of Dr. Lynne Marriott of Banff and are seeking $150,000 in damages after the 1996 stillbirth of their full-term fetus.
