Canadian Pacific Hotels & Resorts Inc. said on Thursday it was moving its best-known domestic luxury properties, like Ottawa's Chateau Laurier and the Banff Springs Hotel in the Alberta Rockies, under the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts banner to streamline its worldwide marketing. CP Hotels purchased a 67-percent stake in Fairmont in 1999 and has been operating its luxury hotels in the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean under the Fairmont name for the past year, while using the Canadian Pacific name at home.
