Tastings of 50-year old whisky, worth $40,000 a bottle, available for $1000 February 13, 2001
Toronto surgeon Dr. Grant Farrow bid $40,000 for a bottle of Glenfiddich knowing the money was going to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The bottle was donated to mark an anniversary celebration of William Grant and Sons, which owns the Glenfiddich distillery in Canada. Another bottle of 50-year-old Glenfiddich is on display at a Banff hotel, where tastings cost $1,000, with proceeds going to a local charity. |
