Canadian ski star injured March 24, 2001
Dave Irwin, a star Canadian skier in the 1970s and 1980s, slammed his head on the snow while making a jump and was hospitalized in critical condition. The 46-year-old skier was injured Friday during a training run for the Export A Extreme Skier Cross at Sunshine Village near Banff. He was flown to hospital in Banff and transferred to Calgary's Foothills Hospital. His family requested that no further information be released. Related stories: Dave Irwin |
