A new lawsuit accuses Sheila Copps, the Minister of Canadian Heritage, of abuse of public office and intentionally committing an illegal act for cancelling an approved ski development at Lake Louise. A statement of claim filed in Alberta Court of Queen's Bench by Skiing Louise, the operators of the Lake Louise ski area, accuses Ms. Copps and federal officials of conduct that is "oppressive, arbitrary, harsh, vindictive, reprehensible and malicious" for cancelling its development of Richardson's Ridge, an area within the Skiing Louise lease in Banff National Park
