Overcrowding in US parks will drive vacationers north

Overcrowding and rising costs have made the national parks in the western US unattractive. “In Canada, the western provinces of Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories and British Columbia will surely remain empty longer than our own western states. In the near future, many more Americans will probably journey to Banff, Jasper, Yoho and Mt. Robson parks... The only limiting factor will be Canadian fuel prices, presently about 50 percent higher than American prices. For the time being at least, these will continue to be offset by the favorable U.S.-Canadian exchange rate.”
