A Member of Parliament from Manitoba is joining Canada's Ukrainian community in calling for a museum to commemorate European prisoners of war in Banff National Park. M.P. Inky Mark has introduced a Private Member's Bill to recognize injustices done to Ukrainians during World War I. Thousands of Ukrainians were imprisoned in Banff between 1914 and 1920. They were forced to build roads, clear land, and work on drainage projects. Canada's Ukrainian community has been lobbying for a museum for years, to contain information on the people imprisoned in Banff.
