Smoke and haze cover Banff and Canmore areas

The park service is burning more than 1,000 hectares of forest, about 20 kilometres south of the town of Banff. "People can smell smoke, definitely, and it's hazy," says Iam Syme, chief warden in Banff. "Visibility is not severely restricted. The majority of the smoke is going up high and pluming to the east."
