Bears and tourists get fenced off at Lake Louise June 12, 2001
A 3.5-km electric fence will keep people and grizzly bears apart this summer in Banff National Park. About a dozen grizzlies frequent a sightseeing gondola area in summer when ski runs turn lush with vegetation, becoming a veritable grizzly salad bar. The gondola draws about 85,000 summer tourists.
