A voluntary speed limit posted along a 7 kilometre stretch near Lake Louise will become mandatory later this week. Several weeks ago, after a grizzly was hit and killed on the Transcanada Highway, Parks Canada officials asked motorists to slow down to 70 km/hr from 90 km/hr. As of Thursday, the 70 km/hr speed limit will become the legal limit, enforced by the RCMP.
