One dead, seven injured after driver tries U-turn near Canmore

A man is dead and seven people are in hospital after an accident on the TransCanada Highway near Canmore on Sunday. The driver of a Mercedez Benz attempted to do a U-turn on the highway after missing an off-ramp, say police. The car was hit by another vehicle traveling westbound in the inside lane of Hwy.#1. The driver of the Mercedez was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver and the six passengers from both cars are in hospital with critical to minor injuries
