A burned-out bank can be repaired; a burned-out forest takes a generation to recover. In simplistic terms, that's the decision made by Prime Minister Jean ChrÈtien and Alberta Premier Ralph Klein in electing Kananaskis for next year's Group of Eight summit. They chose scenery over sensibility.... Clearly, neither the Prime Minister nor the Premier is a hiker or a mountain man; neither seems to understand just how accessible Kananaskis can be to people on a mission.
