Conservation groups opposed to the location of the 2002 G8 summit meeting, to be held in Kananaskis Country, Alberta, responded to a challenge by Premier Ralph Klein by saying that regardless of where in Alberta the event is held, they will work with the federal and provincial government, the organizers of the G8 Summit, and with demonstrators to minimize the impact of the event on the environment. The Alberta Wilderness Association, the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society and Wildcanada.net voiced their opposition to Kananaskis as the choice of venue for the G8 Summit at a news conference on Wednesday, July 25th in Calgary
