Protesters ponder possible pass on K-Country G-8 August 27, 2001
Leaders of the G-8 nations may be able to dodge the kind of raucous protests that usually hound their get-togethers when they attend next summer's summit in Kananaskis Country. And for that, they can thank the elk. Some of the 75 anti-trade globalization groups who met yesterday in Edmonton to discuss strategy for their protest of the upcoming summit said they might not go to Kananaskis at all -- to avoid messing up the area's fragile ecology.
