Wildlife experts will gather next month to find better ways of handling close encounters with animals in Banff National Park -- and avoiding the sometimes deadly consequences. Dubbed the "carnivore summit" by Ian Syme, Banff's chief warden, the meeting is aimed at avoiding situations such as last January's fatal cougar attack on a Canmore woman as she skied near Lake Minnewanka, about 12 kilometres north of Banff.
