Kananaskis Country must stay closed until weather conditions improve, environment chiefs warned yesterday. Access to more than 720,000 hectares of land southwest of Calgary -- including Kananaskis -- has been closed since last Thursday due to extreme drought and the threat of fire. Provincial officials hope a fresh weather system expected to arrive today will help the drought-ravaged area.
