Library board member sets user fee story straight

I was disappointed by the inaccuracies in the Herald's story on library funding. To set the record straight, Banff Public Library eliminated the membership fee for Banff residents on Jan. 1, 2000. Library membership increased by 40 per cent in 2000. This year Banff town council voted a significant increase to the library grant, fully covering the loss of membership fee revenue.
