Gondola may move visitors through Banff

A mode of transportation once reserved for elite European ski resorts is smoothly stringing its way into the minds of Banff residents. A cable-load of gondolas humming above Banff Avenue is being explored as a possible public transportation system for the Rocky Mountain resort, said the town's mayor. Already faced with well-known traffic woes, Dennis Shuler said the town is looking to reduce the more than 7,000 cars and numerous tour buses that drive into the town daily.
