Climber critical after fall October 15, 2001
A "classic error" is responsible for the critical injuries a Canmore man suffered after plummeting the equivalent of a 60-storey building while ice climbing. "That area is tricky and gets steeper and steeper and it's not until you're far up that you realize you should have roped yourselves together," said Gord Irwin, public safety manager for Banff National Park. A party of four men from Canmore and Calgary were climbing Mt. Aberdeen, about 2 km south of Lake Louise, yesterday morning. |
