Banff picks hero cop

Banff voters have elected a mountie hero to its town council . Nigel Paterson, who caught the man who murdered Banff cabbie Lucie Turmel over a decade ago, was the top choice for voters in the mountain resort in an election that sees two newcomers give council a bent on business. Paterson took 940 votes, with John Stutz taking second spot at 897.
