The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) and the Sierra Legal Defence Fund (SLDF) announced today that they had lost their court challenge of a proposed road through Wood Buffalo National Park. Mr. Justice Gibson of the Federal Court ruled yesterday that a proposed winter road could be built through the heart of Wood Buffalo National Park, Canada’s largest national park, and the world’s largest area of protected boreal forest.
