Pierre Berton doesn’t like Fairmont name October 26, 2001
Pierre Berton is not pleased with the name change of the Calgary hotel he was staying in earlier this week. “It should be the Palliser," he says, "not the Fairmont Palliser. Railway hotels in this country are landmarks: the Chateau Frontenac, Lake Louise, Banff Springs,” he says. “Names are important – they shouldn’t be changed at a whim. Names are the fabric of this country.” Related stories: Fairmont |
