Attacks had huge impact on hotel sector November 1, 2001
A report by PKF Consulting shows people cancelled more than 120,000 hotel room reservations in September and October. "In Calgary alone, we saw close to around 47,000 room nights cancelled," says Joe Fardell, president of Tourism Calgary. "Out in the Rockies, it was closer to 75,000 over those two month periods and so that's a lot of revenue lost." Related stories: Post-September 11 tourism recession |
