Pot resin fire burns couple on Squirrel Street

Residents cooking up weed oil in a Banff apartment are being blamed for an explosion that blew their suite apart and injured them both.  Firefighters, paramedics and police were called to an apartment block in Squirrel St. at 10:20 a.m. Thursday after the explosion. Paramedics took the pair to hospital. The woman was released after treatment, while the man was more seriously injured. Investigations reveal occupants of the apartment were making cannabis resin liquid in a make-shift lab in their kitchen, said an RCMP constable.
