Banff warned about wolves and cougars

Banff Park officials have told residents and visitors to be alert to wolves and cougars in and around the town this winter. The animals have learned to cruise the area looking for their prey, elk. In fact, a wolf pack has become so bold it wanders freely all over town. The elk are being moved out, but there's a fear the now acclimatized predators will look for other prey. Last winter a cougar stalked and killed a woman while she was cross-country skiing on a well used trail.
