Clayton Hare, who died Dec. 11 at the age of 92, was not only a prominent member of the Calgary music community for many years, he was one of Canada's most respected teachers. He also continued to direct the summer strings program at the then Banff School of Fine Arts, a position he held for 12 years until 1965. "He was my immediate predecessor at Banff and a good healthy influence before I came," says Tom Rolston, director of the Banff Centre's summer music program.
