The Harmony Lane is Banff's first municipally-designated historic building. Other buildings in Banff, such as the Banff Springs Hotel and the Parks Canada Administration Building, have federally-designated historic status but the Harmony on Banff Avenue is the first beneficiary of town council's new policy. The building, constructed in 1917, was recently restored by its owner to its original look. It was home to a drug store back then but today there are several stores and galleries under its distinctive gabled roof.
