Star-gazing was the order of the evening at the black-tie gala hosted by Robert Kennedy Jr. on the weekend. The Saturday night event was a perfect finish to the three-day Fairmont Banff Springs Sports Invitational. More than 750 people paid $250 each for the chance to hobnob with Hollywood's elite. A pre-dinner cocktail reception and silent auction was the perfect way for guests to get in the spending mood. Silent-auction bids for an autographed pair of Pierce Brosnan's jeans started at $750 US, while an Yves St. Laurent suit worn by Bette Midler seemed a steal starting at $500 US, and a day on the set of the TV series Ed started at $1,500 US.
