Guidelines set up to control which businesses are acceptable in Banff may be tightened after a resident skated his proposal to sell tickets to Calgary Flames hockey games through the Town of Banff's defensive line. The Municipal Planning Commission last week granted The Pro Hockey Experience a home occupation permit against the advice of the Town of Banff's Planning and Development Department, which questioned its appropriateness in a national park. Long-time Banff resident Larry Fremes sought a home occupation licence to operate a tour company offering transportation and tickets for guests to attend professional hockey games in Calgary. "This is our national sport, a key element in our Canadian culture. I think it binds the country together,'' said Fremes. "Currently it's my only source of income. It's a matter of survival for me.''
