CPAWS expresses its deep concern about the threats to ecological integrity caused by removing the National Parks warden service from its law enforcement duties. CPAWS recognizes that National Park wardens are highly trained in conservation and ecological integrity issues as well as law enforcement, and are best suited to protecting the ecological integrity of the parks. CPAWS urges the Minister of Canadian Heritage and Parks Canada to return wardens to their law enforcement duties as soon as possible.
