Banff gets G8 office February 7, 2002
A G8 community centre is opening up on Bear Street to give Banff residents a place to voice concerns and questions in the lead-up to the Environment Minister's meeting in April. G8 Security Team officials have signed a short-term lease with Arctos & Bird to use the main floor of the former AMA building. It could open by the end of this week or early next week. A G8 community outreach worker will be stationed there to create a link to the community in the lead-up to the April 12-14 meeting. Half of the space will also be used for conferences and meetings.
