Canadian Rockies teachers poised to join strikers

Teachers in Banff, Canmore and Exshaw will hold a strike vote Friday, likely adding Canadian Rockies Public Schools to the provincewide list of school boards and union locals at odds. During the Jan. 30 strike authorization vote, only two ballots were marked against holding a strike vote, resulting in an overwhelming 98.5 per cent nod in favour of the action. Some 134 teachers cast ballots from the division's 159 eligible voters.
