Yota Lambropoulos of Banff and Sean Cochrane of Prince George, B.C., captured downhill gold medals Thursday at the $50,000 Pontiac GMC Cup series at Apex Mountain. Lambropoulos easily won the women's race in a time of one minute, 20.12 seconds. Stephanie McDougall of Whistler, B.C., was second in 1:22.91 and Shona Rubens of Calgary third in 1:23.20. "I had a lot more confidence today and pushed a little harder," said Lambropoulos. "My skis were right on the money and I just let them run."
