The environmental legacy of the Kananaskis G8 Summit will be the creation of a Wildlife Ecology Chair at the University of Calgary, focussing research attention on wildlife conservation on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains; and the construction of a bridge over the Rundle Canal to allow wildlife to move more freely between Banff and the Kananaskis Valley.
