Banff loses telephone connection

Banff, Lake Louise, and Canmore were cut off from outside telephone calls for much of yesterday after a City of Calgary road crew severed a fibre-optic cable in the early afternoon. No long-distance calls could be made into or out until the Telus Corporation cable was repaired or worked around.
