The church is St George’s-in-the-Pines. “What dismayed me most about the tarted-up town were the upscale emporiums from everywhere but Banff. What did the Gap or Louis Vuitton or a southwestern American restaurant or hundreds of bottles of maple syrup have to do with a western Canadian main street bookended by soaring mountains?”
