4,500 runners hit streets of Banff September 29, 2002
The 23rd annual Melissa’s Road Race sold out again this year, drawing 4,500 runners from across Canada to its 10-kilometre and 22-kilometre races. The most popular race in the Calgary area would have drawn more people, but the town and Parks Canada decided to limit the number of runners after the race sent 5,500 runners down its streets in 1992.
