Banff wants to tax hostels

The Town of Banff is proposing to tax the international youth hostel in Banff and is launching a review of all tax-exempt not-for-profit organizations. If council decides to level taxes against the Southern Alberta Hostelling Association's Banff Alpine Centre to the tune of $89,000, it is believed to be the first municipality in the province to do so.
