Council scraps fee hike

After a long day of debate Monday, Banff town council approved the town’s 2003 operating budget — one that doesn’t include an earlier proposed 10 per cent hike in business licence fees. Banff property owners will, however, face a general 3.1 per cent municipal property tax hike to pay for some new initiatives.
