Hospital deficit not expected to bring cuts

Services at Banff Mineral Springs Hospital aren’t expected to be cut this year, despite a $1.02 million budget deficit for the year ending March 31, 2003. A dramatic decline in inpatients and a $391,000 cut in government funding resulted in the huge deficit -- about 10 per cent of the Mineral Springs Hospital operating budget for the past year.
