Golden traffic jam caused by highway closure

With the highway between Castle Junction and Radium closed, hundreds of motorists heading west on the holiday Monday were forced to make a detour through Golden – turning the town's streets into a parking lot. Both Highway 93 and part of the Yellowhead Highway in the B.C. interior were still closed Tuesday because of heavy smoke from fires burning in the area, making the TransCanada the road of choice.
