Wardens try to train bears to keep out of Canmore August 6, 2003
Park wardens are pulling out a bag of tricks to try to keep bears from coming into Canmore. Buffalo berry plants, a favourite food, are being removed from the town, or sprayed with a hormone to make the berries drop early. Dogs, cracker shells and rubber bullets are being used on one persistent grizzly, in hopes that she'll learn to stay away from the town, and teach her offspring the same.
