A controlled burn got out of hand yesterday and knocked out power to the Canmore and Banff areas. Electricity was out for several hours after a power line was disrupted and thick smoke in the area prompted authorities to limit the speed limit on parts of the Trans-Canada to 50 km/h. Six helicopters and water bombers were called in to battle the fire.
