Lightning strikes overnight have resulted in one new fire in the south end of Kootenay National Park near Stoddart Creek. It is currently being actioned by the BC Fire Service. Highway 93 South in Kootenay National Park to Castle Junction in Banff National Park – will be open to traffic from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily, conditions permitting.
