A deluge of welcome rain has allowed officials to lift sweeping closures in tinder-dry Kananaskis Country and Canmore. The province lifted the two-week backcountry travel ban in K-Country and Bow Valley Wildland Provincial Park on August 28. A fire ban is still in effect because the fire danger remains extreme
