Woman accused of writers’ fraud may elude prosecution in U.S. November 29, 2003
A literary agent accused of taking manuscripts and money from aspiring writers while working in South Carolina may elude prosecution on the charges after fleeing to Canada, police said. Elisabeth Von Hullessem, 49, was arrested in Banff in October on seven counts of fraud, two counts of false pretenses and theft. But she must be federally expedited from Canada to face charges, and police say the charges aren't serious enough to go to expense of bringing her back.
